This study was investigated to develop biodegradable films from inexpensive film base materials, gum karaya (GKA) and Bombacaceae gum (BOG), which are acidic and branched polysaccharides obtained from exudates of the trees belonging to Sterculiaceae and Bombacaceae families, respectively. In addition, GKA was used as a stabilizing-agent in the film developed from the starch.
